Avena sativa L.
The late high yielding oat with very mild hull and good milling quality
- Very stiff and longer straw
- Resistant to drought
- Good kernel size and grading
- Low hull content
- Excellent also for organic production
- Vegetation period (in Finland) – appr. 100 days
- Yield – 6.6 t/ha
- Stem – 101 cm
- Resistant to lodging, only 12 % of plants lodged
- Rather resistant to diseases
- The grain is white, larger than the grains of the Belinda variety
- Weight of 1000 grains – 38.9 g
- The number of small grains (i.e., smaller than 2 mm) is low
- Hectolitre weight – 54.2 kg/hl
- Protein content – 11.5 %
- Protein yield – 641 kg/ha
- Grain husk content – 21.7 %
- Very thin shell
- The quality meets the needs of the mill industry used for food
- Suitable for growing in all types of soil, but best suited for mineral clay soils
The varietal parameters may differ from those indicated here when the testing circumstances differ from quondam
Recommended sowing rate: 400-450 seeds/m2 or 210-230 kg/ha. At unfavourable conditions recommendation to increase sowing rate to 550-600 seeds/m2
