Squarrosum clover (annual)
Trifolium squarrosum L.
Annual forage leguminous plant used for different purposes: pasture, forage and hay production, green manure, seed production
- Can be cultivated alone or together with other grassland plants
- The green forage is very nutritive and palatable
- Easy adaptable to different types of soils
- Grows better on moist but not waterlogged soils
- Resistant to dry soils
- Frost tolerance below -10°C for several days
The varietal parameters may differ from those indicated here when the testing circumstances differ from quondam
Recommended sowing rate: 30-40 kg/ha, and 15-25 kg/ha, when sowing in mixtures
Recommended sowing rate when growing for green manure: 20-30 kg/ha
