The varietal parameters may differ from those indicated here when the testing circumstances differ from quondam

Recommended sowing rate: 5-6 kg/ha

As winter turnip rape growing point is located below the soil surface, it has good resistance to low temperatures. Dangerous might be winter thaw, standing water and ice destroy the plants. Field selection should be kept in mind that the field is as smooth and does not accumulate in standing water.

The most suitable soil is with a pH of 5.5-6.0, yields are low in acidic soils, they do not overwinter in peaty soils. The best sowing time is August 10-20. Sowing rate – 3-6 kg/ha.  The optimal sowing depth is 2 cm. The stage of 8 true leaves is most suitable for wintering. Fast initial development (establishment), can help to control weeds. Even during the crop development period, winter turnip rape requires less nitrogen than other oil crops. Autumn (complex) fertilization and spring fertilization with nitrogen are required. It is used in the rotation of cereal plants, it ripens early, it is perfectly combined with the crop harvesting schedule. The root system penetrates into deep layers of the soil, helping to restore the capillary net.
